Vivian Maier Official Site
On Design Observer
Before the time of the instant and the digital. No app, no filter, no preview, no autofocus, no blog. Vivian Maier was an amateur photographer, a woman, a nanny venturing into the worst side of the city taking pictures while babysitting her employer’s children. Her subject matters were exposed and public but her works were private and hidden. It is interesting to note the amount of self portraits she took while being so obsessively about keeping her creative side hidden. I look forward to this movie. It’s like finally being allow to see what’s in that forbidden album lock away in the attic (literally).
