Notes on architectural elements

I am drawn to certain elements of architectural form and structure such as cross section plane drawings, concrete surface, wood structures and patterns. These elements exist for specific functions that attribute to a complete architectural form. However, I am not interested in architecture as a whole, only in these bits and pieces by themselves. I see them as individual expressions of minimalistic art form. When they are removed from architecture, they lose their function in that context and exist as an element of a created expression that can be interpreted in a different context. They retained in them a sense of regulated rhythm of being a functional architectural form, which really appeals to me.

Sol LeWitt and Gordon Matta-Clark both were influenced greatly by architectures and developed drawings based on architectural elements.
